| New technology is always incredibly enticing. We've spent the last couple of weeks tinkering with Intel's debuting Core i7 processors, becoming suitably impressed and even getting the 965-Extreme part running at a ferocious 3.7GHz after overclocking. The Mesh Xtreme i7 920 is the first full PC system we've seen with one of the new parts - and we're interested to see how one of the new CPUs performs in a fully-built machine. |

| The last few months have seen a selection of tiny PCs arrive, and they never fail to attract attention. The promise of a respectable amount of computing power in a case barely bigger than a hardback book makes our desktop systems seem huge and cumbersome in comparison. |

Particularly the new ML470, a professional looking business desktop which can be had with a choice of either dual or quad core processor, three different chassis types and Intel vPro management as standard. |

| As the price of digital cameras and HD camcorders continues to fall, many people are now using their home PCs to do video and photo editing - or rather trying to. There is nothing more frustrating than to start encoding your latest home movie only to find that the software is going to hog all your system's resources for the next five hours or so. |

| It's no secret that the key to the Eee PC 1000H's current A List status is its tremendous six-hour battery life, three times that of its rivals. We know it, you know it, and MSI certainly knows it - hence the belated introduction of the MSI Wind U100-291UK, now with the all-important six-cell battery. |

| Sony's newest addition to the VAIO range has been drawing stares from the PC Pro troops since it arrived - largely because it's lipstick red. Whether this is a plus or not is open to interpretation, but you'd better learn to live with it, as the only other colour on offer is an even less appealing brown.

| YouTube has completely changed our attitudes toward digital video over the past year or so. Where once shooting and editing motion footage was the preserve of keen amateurs and those with plenty of time on their hands, now just about anyone with a mobile phone can do their You've Been Framed bit. |

| It's all well and good having a PC with a monstrous graphics card and quad-core processor, but the sheer amount of cooling required to make these parts functional often results in a loud PC. A huge CPU heatsink, inefficient GPU setup and various fans dotted around the chassis can all contribute to an uncomfortable whirr disrupting any gaming or movie sessions. |
