VideoStudio 11

VideoStudio 11

VideoStudio 11 is easy to use, highly compatible, you can quickly create professional video for personal use or online publication with this software, and it's user-friendly.

This product, developed by Ulead, offers tools beyond basic video editing and includes the ability to create 3D images for Macromedia Flash, Neptune MediaShare, Movie Screensaver, batch conversions, download updates and a free guide to shooting digital video. VideoStudio 11 is a good choice for publishing to the Internet since it can work with QuickTime, Windows Media and RealVideo.

If you need software capable of authoring Blu-ray Discs, or publishing to the AVCHD format, Corel offers VideoStudio 11.5 Plus.

Editing Tools/Options:
With VideoStudio you can quickly download, edit or burn video through its movie wizard. In just a few clicks, the program can automatically detect your camcorder and you can begin editing or burning. The movie wizard only offers a few edit options but through the "VideoStudio Editor," you can perform advanced edits. In the editor mode, effortlessly add effects, overlays, titles or export video or burn DVDs.

Considering the many features and options this video editing software offers, it is easy to navigate and use.

Video Capture/Playback:
VideoStudio was simple to install and we encountered zero errors while utilizing the program.

Ease of Use:
VideoStudio includes many time saving features, automatic functions and works with numerous video, audio and image file types.

Capturing Video is one of VideoStudio's strongest features. During capture, VideoStudio detects scene changes automatically, eliminating an extra step required by most software. Alternatively, you can mark chosen scenes yourself, VideoStudio eliminates the repetitive task of capturing individual video segments. Usually video capture tools require you to mark, capture, then verify each scene, but VideoStudio's batch capture lets you preview the whole movie using a toggle (F3 and F4 keyboard keys) to mark where you want each scene to begin and end.

We were skeptical at first, but found this batch capture technique less stressful than capturing and reviewing a scene at a time. Once you mark desired scenes, VideoStudio captures all of scene sections at once.

VideoStudio can capture data from multiple camcorder types, including analog with the right video capture hardware. To learn more about how to transfer analog video to digital, read Copying VHS to DVD. The program supports all common formats such as M-PEG, VCD, SVCD, AVI, WMV as well as a variety of audio and image file types.

For editing, VideoStudio offers some excellent automatic functions and helpful features including,

  • An extended storyboard view to sort scenes, eliminates excessive scrolling
  • Large scene preview window
  • 38 powerful filters, including a Duotone filter for scene flashbacks
  • 117 transitions or the program can automatically pick transitions
  • 7 customizable title/text templates
  • DVD main menus and submenus creation
  • Two audio tracks, so voice and music can be played at the same time
  • Fits sound tracks to the length desired
  • Auto-slide show
  • Ripple Editing
Additionally, it includes drag and drop editing, auto-save, multi-trim editing, shuttle control and full screen previews.

Ease of Installation:
The VideoStudio captures all video and audio flawlessly. Our captured video had no distortions, pauses or skips; it looked exactly like the original copy.

Help/Support:
VideoStudio's help documentation is comprehensive, well organized and easily accessible through the program. Besides the help documentation, you can contact phone support or review the FAQs on their website for answers to all your questions.

This manufacturer also offers a free trial, so you can try the program before you buy it.

Summary:
VideoStudio is an efficient, powerful video editing program with a high level of compatibility. This product competes with the best; they have one of the finest collections of video and audio editing tools.
